To create and present new, thought-provoking works for the stage, collaborating with other passionate, talented performers to create living works of art. Theatre Daedalus strives to be the home for new voices in theater to be heard.

Theatre Daedalus is a trio of writers Jaclyn Villano, Jeremy Sony, and Michael S. Parsons who have come together to create new plays and bring new works to life on the stage. Theatre Daedalus launched in the Summer of 2008 with Project 10, a collaborative evening that showcases a thematic series of 10-minute plays written by each playwright. Plans for the next installment of Project 10 (to premiere in Spring 2009) are already underway.
The playwrights have each taken on a major role in the development of Theatre Daedalus, adopting rotating terms in their respective positions. Jaclyn will serve as Managing Director for the 2008-2009 season, while Jeremy will sit as the theater's first Playwright-in-Residence. Michael has taken the post of Artistic Director of the company and will oversee the current slate of productions and spearhead the development of the 2009-2010 season.
Theatre Daedalus is also excited to be working on its first full-length original production, slated to bow in late Summer 2009. Details on this world premiere are forthcoming.
You can read more about Jaclyn, Jeremy, and Michael by visiting their bios:

Daedalus, in Greek mythology, was a master craftsman. After inventing the labyrinth for King Minos, Daedalus and his son Icarus were held prisoner in Daedalus' own creation. However, using wax and feathers, Daedalus forged two sets of wings for him and his son to escape.
It is this kind of ingenuity and creative spirit we wish to honor and emulate. We strive to create scripts that are full of characters that are alive, telling stories of substance, to bring the finest possible theatrical experience to our audiences.
